I have to say that marrying my wife is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Before I met her a typical day for me would consist of going to work, then spending the remainder of my time watching TV or playing video games.
Sounds like an exciting life right? Haha.
I think back towards this and can now see how much my life has changed. Marrying a Philippine woman has made life much more exciting for me. I travel much more now, eat amazing foods I never even knew existed, and feel very in love each and every day.
Seeing how happy she has made me, I want to further explain to you why if you choose to marry a Philippine girl, you will not be disappointed.
The first and most important reason I feel marrying a Filipina is the right choice, is the unconditional love she gives you. It’s a great feeling waking up every morning to a girl who can’t weigh more than 95 pounds, but gives you the tightest hug in the world then whispers in your ear “good morning I love you.”
I was surprised that when I got married that instead of seeing her as my wife, I usually saw her as my best friend. We would do everything together, and usually send text every couple of hours just to see how each other were doing.
Philippine women will be your biggest supporter, and most loyal ppartner throughout your entire life.
I believe that’s why according to dating services that arrange Filpina-American marriages, tend to have a much lower divorce rate compared to the common American-American marriages.
They love food
If you are not a big eater, being being with a Filipino will quickly change that. I remember when I traveled to the Philippines, it seemed like every day was a celebration with how much food they would prepare and eat. When I got married, my wife was no different. Every day she would cook big meals ( enough to feed like 5 people ) and was always asking if the food was good or if I had enough to eat.
Let me tell you, the food they cook is very good!
One of my favorite meals my wife cooks for me is pork adobo with leche flan as dessert. The main course is made up of tender pork seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, bay leaves, and vinegar. The dessert is a caramel pudding like custard drizzled with a creamy caramel top.
Many foods like that one are are very delicious, but there are some other ones that will actually sound quite weird or perhaps even gross.Trust me, before you judge any of them just give it a chance and see what you think.
Two things I thought were going to be absolutely disgusting, but turned out quite good was banana ketchup and chicken feet. Banana ketchup actually has a very sweet taste to it ( I even prefer it over regular ketchup now a days) and eating chicken feet was basically like having baby chicken wings.
It’s funny every time I mention these to my family, they cringe and say they will stick to American food like pizza and hamburgers.
Not being a great cook myself, I can assure you if you have a Filipina as a wife, you will never have to worry about being hungry.
Never a dull moment in your life
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I was never one who got out and traveled much. Boy let me tell you, soon as I got married, that quickly changed in a heartbeat.
How most women usually like to plan every detail about a trip they want to do in the future, Filipinos are very spontaneous. You can be relaxing at home on a Saturday afternoon, then later that evening she will get the idea in her head she wants to take a 4 hour trip to the beach tomorrow.
I believe the first year we were together, I went more places with her than I did with my family and friends in the past 5 year combined.
Besides traveling much more frequently, you will also find your own home to be more more lively. My wife will throw a random party in the middle of the summer, for no other reason than to have our friends come over to sing karaoke and eat a ton of food! I bet our neighbors probably think we are having a birthday party every other weekend, with how much excitement goes on around our house.
I have to admit though at times it can become a little bit chaotic, but there’s nothing quite like being with a Filipina whose personality and laughter brings a smile to everyone they come in contact with. This is one of their best qualities I believe, and is another reason I love having a Filipina as a wife!
Getting married can be quite scary when you first think about. Committing yourself to only one person the rest of your life, It becomes very important as to who you choose that person to be. However when I met my wife, it was like a no brainer! Between cooking, her sense of adventure, and the love she showed me every day, I found I couldn’t wait to be with her every day from that moment on.
Have you been married before, or perhaps you are looking for your future bride? I would love your feedback, questions, and opinions on what you want to know about having a Filipina as a wife. I’ll be more than happy to answer you as soon as possible, and clear up any confusion you may have as well.
